Previously a set and costume designer, James completed his retraining at Rose Bruford College in 2016 and has since worked on a variety of screen and stage projects, ranging from roles in well known classics such as Macbeth and Pygmalion to new writing productions and an action/adventure web series. Coupled with his experience before training he has been acting for nearly ten years.
James has always been eager for new and exciting roles, whilst specialising in erratic comedic characters and concise, subtle dramatic performances. An enthusiastic singer, he has also sung solo and as part of an ensemble in various musical productions including lead and supporting roles in Anything Goes, The Wizard of Oz, and Rent.
A passionate collaborator and eager to take risks with his performances, James is never one to shy away from a challenge and learn new skills, recently learning basic tap for roles in Singing in the Rain and Stepping Out. Also a firm believer in 'paying it forward' he enjoys volunteering his time with student directors and actors, sharing his experiences with the next generation of practitioners
